Narmada Shivalingam
Meaning
Shiva is a
Sanskrit word and means "light" or "fire." The power of Shiva is said to
be the active and male energy, in contrast to the female and receiving
energy of Shakti.Lingam means "column" or "tower." Shivalingam therefore
means tower of light (or fire). A Shivalingam is a powerful symbol of
light surrounded by garlands of flames, rising from earth to heaven,
emanating light and warmth over all who come near it. The form of the
Shivalingam symbolizes the invisible creative power, as yet not
manifested. Male and female energy are united. The elongated ovoid shape
symbolizes male energy while the red markings, the yoni, symbolize the
female energy.
Our Lingams are something very special. After
polishing, they are brought to a power center of our planet and they are
charged there. Part of the income from the sale of our Shivalingams is
used to maintain this special center.
