Earth
smoke is a traditional herb to defeat damaging influences. It also has a
relation to elementary forces, and beings of the otherworld. In the
Middle-Ages, it was used in exorcism rites. Earth smoke is strongly
cleansing and grounding, especially when blended with camphor and
olibanum. Burned, it develops a typical herbal fragrance.
